Are you interested in a funded four-year studentship in biomedical research including a one-year MSc course that would provide interdisciplinary training for your three-year PhD, along with two research projects?  Then the Warwick MRC DTP in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research may be the programme for you.   We are recruiting home and international students.

The following types of studentships are available:

Core

Students co-design two MSc projects and their PhD project with supervisors, in one of the following  research areas – Combating InfectionMolecular Basis of Human Disease and Precision Diagnostics and Data Analytics.

iCASE

Students apply for a specific industry project, are supervised by an academic and an industry supervisor, and spend at least three months based with an industry partner.

Translational Medicine

Students apply for a specific project and have supervisors from both Warwick and the Institute of Precision Diagnostics and Translational Medicine, University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust.

Key features of the programme

  • Interdisciplinary MSc training year, followed by a three-year PhD.
  • Open to students from all science backgrounds.
  • Fully funded programme, including fees, stipend, consumables, and personal conference allowance.
  • Friendly and vibrant interdisciplinary MRC DTP community, with regular DTP events such as visiting speaker seminars, skills workshops, and student conferences.

We are constantly working to create a supportive and inclusive environment to help students achieve their best potential, through promoting equality and challenging discrimination.  We welcome and encourage applications from all students, especially those from groups under-represented in academia.  For 2022 entry we have ring-fenced two studentships, one each for a Black British student and a student from a widening participation background.
