Man Group Graduate Technology Training Programme [Funded MSc]

What Does this Programme Offer?  Man Group are beginning a new partnership with Goldman Sachs and The University of Warwick to offer an MSc in Digital and Technological Solutions, alongside a role within our own technology teams. The programme is designed to fast-track entry-level technologists into a successful, challenging and rewarding career in one of the world’s largest asset managers. This programme offers a unique opportunity for those with minimal coding experience to break into the technology industry. The programme is split with 80% of the candidate’s time spent working within a technology team at Man Group, and 20% spent studying on campus at The University of Warwick. Whilst at Warwick students will be studying for an MSc in Digital and Technological Solutions, a course that has been designed in collaboration with Man Group and Goldman Sachs engineers, and has been curated to cover topics which we recognize are in high demand within our field. There will additionally be opportunities for candidates to rotate between teams and gain a broader experience of our usage of technology within Man Group. The master’s degree is funded in full, and your salary will be paid by Man Group in line with our full-time technology graduates.

Who Is Man Group Looking For? This scheme is funded in part by the government apprenticeship levy, which comes with specific constraints, as well as academic requirements specific to The University of Warwick. Applicants will require:

  • A minimum 2:2 classification in a STEM related bachelor’s degree, this excludes courses with substantial prior programming content such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, etc. which are not eligible for the apprenticeship programme.
  • Availability to join by September 2022 and commit to two years of studies.

Additionally, successful candidates will be expected to have the following:

  • A demonstrable passion for technology.
  • A keen interest in pursuing a career in a fast-paced and innovative industry.
  • A strong set of logical problem-solving skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to think critically whilst working effectively in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.

How Do I Apply?Step 1: Click “Register and Apply” (or “Login and Apply” if you have previously registered on Man Group’s website) Step 2: Upload your documents, including both of the following two items:

  • Your current CV (no cover letter is required), as well as
  • Your responses to the following three questions, ensuring each answer is no more than 200 words (please upload the document in the ‘cover letter’ field):

 1. Why do you want to join Man Group’s Technology Training Programme, and why are you interested in working in Technology? 2. What key skills have you developed which you believe will make you a successful candidate? 3. Describe the most challenging experience you have gone through, inside or outside of the academic world, what you learned from it and how it differentiates you from your peers? What Happens After I Have Sent My Application?Step 1: Application Review  We will review your CV and you will hear from us by email to confirm whether your application is being progressed. We do receive a high volume of applications so there may be a wait to hear back, but we will be in touch as soon as possible. Step 2: Telephone Interview The next stage will be a telephone interview. The interview should take no longer than 45 minutes to complete and allows us to understand more about you.  Step 3: Assessment Day If you are successful at the phone or video interview stage, the final stage will be an assessment day at our city office or virtually depending on the government guidance at the time. We will inform you of our decision as quickly as possible following the assessment day.
